For the parents from concerned and frustrated parents having a tough time.

The school does not have facilities or staff,

for sick students other than to provide first aid.

The Principal will make the decision if students need to go home if unwell. Parents / Caregivers

& or emergency contact will be telephoned.

Students who are ill should rest and recover at home until they are well enough to return to school.

WAIT A MINUTE SO IF THEY FELL OVER HAD A LITTLE HEADACHE OR SCRATCHED KNEE THEY HAVE TO GO HOME BECAUSE THERE IS NO NURSE?

OMG

Basic First Aid

For basic first aid treatment, students will be assisted by staff if necessary and home contact will be made if needed.

In an emergency

 At school, staff will administer first aid and contact the front office. The front office will contact ambulance services and student home/emergency.

OK, WHAT IS AN EMERGENCY THE CHILD HAS A RUNNY NOSE PARENTS THEN GET CALLED UP AND HAVE TO PICK  THE CHILD UP WHEN ALL THEY HAD TO DO IS GET THE CHILD TO BLOW THEIR NOES BUT THE SCHOOL INSISTED ON MAKING THE PARENTS COME AND RETRIEVE THE CHILD AND KEEP THEM HOME THEN THEY HAVE TO STAY HOME INCASE THEY ARE STILL  HAVING MABEY ONE SNEEZE, JUST IN CASE THE CHILD WAS BULLIED AND GOT HURT NO PARENTS WERE NOTIFIED BUT HAD WOUNDS AND BRUISES QUITE DISTURBING FOR THE CHILD NOT TO MENTION HOW IT WOULD IMPACT THE CHILDREN AND THE PARENTS.

 Of site (e.g. excursions, camps, buses) staff will administer first aid, contact ambulance services and home/emergency contacts and inform school. IF YOU WANT TO KNOW MORE ON WHAT THE SCHOOL SAYS HAVE A LOOK AT THE PDFS.

I RECEIVED A MESSAGE FROM A  FAMILY WHOSE CHILDREN DO GO TO TE MID NORTH EDUCATION CENTRE SCHOOL, AND THE TEACHERS DO NOTHING WHEN THE CHILDREN ARE BEING BULLIED TO THE POINT OF SELF HARM, TO TRY AND UNDERSTAND THE SITUATION MAKES YOUR HEAD HURT FOR IT DOES, NT MATTER WHAT ANYBODY SAY'S BECAUSE,  THERE IS NO ONE YOU CAN REACH OUT TO THAT WILL LISTEN AND HELP, SO IT DOESN, T MATTER THERE NOT WORRIED IF THE KIDS FELL OVER AND THEY WERE UNAWARE.

AND SO IF THEY UP WITH A HEADACHE AND DID NOT SAY ANYTHING BUT JUST LOOKED DROWSY HAD A VERY HEADACHE, WE DID GET TELL BECAUSE THE TEACHERS WERE NOT AWARE OF WHAT IS AND WAS HAPPENING ON THE PLAY GROUNDS THE BULLYING AND NOT HAVING A NURSE IS A VERY STRONG POINT FOR PARENTS LIKE US IN  SITUATIONS JUST LIKE THIS. BELOW IS THE STORY OF THE FAMILY WHO TRIED HARD TO BE HEARD AND HAS NOW COME TO THE POINT WHERE ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.

This report is about a school not doing their job as a teacher and children suffering from it.

12 years ago our child started school at mid north education centre in port pirie and over the years we have had a feeling that our child was not improving very much in his education but we couldnt prove anything and had to leave the situation alone but then we started having issues with bulling which im aware that where ever you go every school will have bullies but when you receive a phone call stating that your child has "fallen" and then find out from your child that he was pushed it makes things go in a different way, he even ended up with little rocks stuck in his side and thats when we found out that the school has no sick bay or a nurse to tend to the children all they did was put a bandaid on top of the rocks and when we picked him up we had to go to a chemist and get them out ourselves and ended up having to keep him home for a whole week before it finally healed and was able to go back to school so we tried to complain to education department about the school having no nurse or sick bay we got told that apparently not every school needs to have a one but we find that to a load of crap.

Unfortunately, the issues didn't stop there, we then found out that our oldest child was fighting at school and the teachers weren't doing much about it and we also found out that he was being bullied to fight, but the worst part was when we happened to be at the school one day and his teacher approached us and told us something that absolutely had me in tears they told us that our child was scratching his wrist with a pin and the only thing they would suggest was for him to wear bracelets and when we told them about the bullying they didn't want to do anything about it so we spoke with our child and he explained what was going on and we approached the school about it and over time the bullying stopped and things settled down for a while, he was only 8 years old when that happened and the bully doing the damage wasn't given any penalty for it and wasn't until we approached the school after speaking to our oldest child and getting the whole story that anything got done. And what's worse is that we have a 17-year-old in year 11 going into 12 next year all his school reports say that he is improving but every time he had homework or I've had to home-school our kids because of the covid lockdowns i find that he can not read properly, is unable to do his maths without me just about giving him the answers and also cannot tell time on a clock and the school keeps trying to tell us that he knows it and if we try to argue that with them there's no point because they do not want to hear what we have to say and yet our youngest child in year 8 knows more about his maths, spelling and has a little bit of trouble with time but he does know how to read it. We've tried reaching out to the education department and all we get is laughed in our faces we are sick and tired of being lied to and we are not sure how much more we can take before one of us bursts.

NOW I HAVE INVESTIGATED THE INFORMATION FROM THE SCHOOL WEBSIYE THAT SAY THEY ABIDE BY  HOWEVER IT IS HAPPENING ALL TIME NOT JUST ONE SEVERAL

A drugged-up dad told his mate that he stank before grabbing his head and putting it under scalding hot water for several minutes, causing him significant burns.
